Day trip to Peaks of Otter Lodge on Blue Ridge Parkway - 265 miles

Had a great trip today with my wife to the Peaks of Otter Lodge on the Blue Ridge Parkway for lunch.

We stopped by Lynchburg Harley Davidson shop for a break and to look at the bikes there. They only had one 2012 Ultra Classic and it was the blue/black. Talked to "Big Dog" in sales and he seemed to be a nice guy and very interested in "making a deal". He told me to make sure and give him a call before I finalized a deal anywhere else. I may have to do that, maybe in the January time frame!

The weather was interesting. The NWS forecast was 0(ZERO) percent chance of rain today. You don't really see to many forecast of actual 0% chance of rain so I felt sure it would be a perfect sunny day. WELL, not the case, they really missed that forecast. It was actually cloudy for most of the day and actually sprinkled on us for about 10 minutes during the trip. But, it was warm and just a great ride and trip with the wife.

The food was great at the Peaks of Otter Lodge restaurant. I had a Reuben, my wife had a Monte Cristo with Blackberry dipping sauce and we both had the "Peaks of Otter Bread Pudding" for dessert! Both sandwiches were excellent and the bread pudding was outstanding. No dinner for either of us tonight!
A great trip! Left this morning around 9 am and got back home around 5pm.

  1. HD of Lynchburg is the best!
We purchased our 2011 Ultra Classic in April. Big Dog, Tony, James, Kiefer and the rest are great.
